There really is some hard work associated with building a motorcycle by hand. Who knew?

This is no assembly line project. Each hammer, weld and rivet are one-of-a-kind. Everything is done with recognition for the finished piece. The question that is asked most often is “How does this fit into the design and how does this honor the aircraft history?

With the P-51 Gunfighter, there are sleek and powerful lines that give the fighter warplane such advantages as speed and maneuverability. All decisions regarding the custom fabrication for Gunfighter the motorcycle make sure that she looks just as sleek and powerful on the road as her namesake does in the air.

Sometimes, that means a part will be cut and re-cut several times over to get it just right. And sometimes it means that lining up the exhaust pipes means pressing hot metal into place as you weld. And a few times we get really lucky and find an air-intake scoop that works perfectly when we resize it.

All in all, it’s a long day in the shop grinding and welding. But the finished result is so worth it.
